Hi all.

We are thinking about buying into DVC in about 2 years (when we can pay cash) and I know that if you buy through Disney you have to buy at least 150 points.

My question is if we bought through resale can we buy a smaller amount. We really would like to do 2 contracts at 100 points each (at seperate resorts). Is this possible?

Thanks so much!

It is possible, as long as the contracts make it through Disney's Right of First Refusal (ROFR). (Disney reserves the right to step in an purchase any contract once an offer has been made, at the same terms as the original offer.)

As long as the price per point you offer is high enough, it should clear ROFR. And remember that contracts can not be broken up (ie, if you see a resale for 150 points, you can not buy 100 points of that contract and someone else buy 50 points)

You can only purchase the size resale contract that the seller has, as originally purchased from Disney. So you'd have to wait for 100 point contracts to become available if that's the size you want.

If you want two 100 point contracts at different resorts, definitely try to get both of them with the same use year month. This then gives you one membership number which has one master contract and one add-on contract. That way at 7-months you can combine points for reservations, and the banking percentages will be based on 200 points.

If they're different use year months, they are two totally separate master contracts, have different membership numbers, and must be managed independently of each other.
