Question About NOT Linking Reservations...

This is somewhat confusing, but assistance would be appreciated. Long story short, I am traveling with a party of 3 in August (2 of us flying, 1 Amtrak); and was able to save about $150 a person by flying in one day early and getting a room at the All Start Sports. I absolutely do not want this reservation to link to the 'primary reservation'. I booked through Expedia. We had issues years ago with a similar situation and it caused problems with our Magic Bands for the whole trip . So my question is, how can we avoid the reservation at the All Starts linking to the main reservation? Or can it only link if I do it manually? Thank You!

I'm a little confused by what you mean by "linking" the reservations. For DVC reservations, we often "link" continuing reservations that were made using different memberships so that we don't have to move rooms. But I don't think that's what you're referring to here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it strikes me that you don't want your Magic Bands from the main reservation to be associated in any way with the Expedia reservation. If that's the case, then don't link the Expedia reservation in your main MDE account. Set up a separate, dummy MDE account and add it to that one. You would still be able to book DME for your arrival using that dummy MDE account. You can order Magic Bands for it so that everyone can enter the room for that night. However, there would be no tickets associated with those Magic Bands, so no park entrance would be possible using them.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I went on a field trip with my school for spring break, but added a few nights for just myself and son. I made two completely separate accounts (used my full name for one, nickname for another). This kept everything separate.

ETA: You will need a second email account for this. You can just make one with gmail for free. No big deal.
