Question about no expiration tix

We are going to WDW and have purchased tickets with no expiration date. Grandparents are going as well, and are purchasing park hopper tix. Is it possible for them to purchase no expiration date tix with more days and us to buy the remaining days from them and still be able to use them? I know we have to do the finger check at the gate, but on our next trip will the finger checker still be looking for the grandparents' fingers or will we be able to use them? Thanks for any help anyone can give us.

Before the fingerprinting system you used to be able to do that. We would have extra tickets that we would let people use when they would go. I though of doing this again, since we are moving to Celebration and will have lot os visitors, but was told that the tickey can only be used by the person whose initial fingerprint was used. To me this stinks, but I call beack several times to see if I would get a different andswer, but it was always the same. . Guess my visitors will need to be on their own for tickets.

it used to be that if all of the tickets were bought in the same transaction and used the first time together, the biometric info for the whole "family" of tickets was stored as one block; therefore, if you got the tickets mixed up, your biometrics were linked to the whole blcok of tickets, rather than one single ticket.
is this no longer the case?

Sorry, you can't do this. The purpose of the biometric scan is to prevent the transfer of tickets from one person to another.

Not legally and it probably won't work with the requirement of the "scan". Sorry!
