Question about Niagra Falls -- or some other romantic destination suggestions

DH and I had the talk last night about all that I read on this thread. We have decided not to do the Falls this time. We hopefully will get to it another time, hopefully spring.
We looked at hotels in NYC last night online. However, the ones that we were looking at were booked already or too pricey for that short amount of time.
Now we have decided on the Caribbean. We have been before and loved it. Yes, we were hoping for something a little different, but we decided there is nothing wrong with going to the Caribbean again. We do have a blast there. We have always been with the kids, too. So this will be a special time as a couple. We are going back to Aruba and Venezuela. We can do that, and stay longer than planned, because DH has to take a business trip to Venezuela. Therefore, I will fly with him. We will make the stop in Aruba for the weekend and then go to Venezuela for the week. I know that there is a boycott of Aruba, and I do feel so sorry for Natalie Holloway's family. However, the fllght from NC to Venezuela is best going through Aruba. Plus, we have been there (back in 2003) and thought it was beautiful!!!!!! We will gladly go back for a weekend...........just the two of us.

It's probably just me, but I would never go to Niagara Falls in the winter. Been there, down that. I used to live near Buffalo and have been to NF many times. It's really COLD and windy there in the winter. I guess that's why I live in FL now. I'd love to go to NF in the summer though.

I agree! Nothing like standing there at the falls, frozen ice spraying/pelting you in the face and being blown all over the side of the falls! The first time we went it was winter and I hated it! I made myself go back in the spring to get a true feel for it. Would I ever go back, though, at any time of the year? No! It is nice to do, though, to be able to say you have seen the majesty of it!

Good choice! With the weather we are having today (gloomy, rain and 40's) I wish I was heading down to the Islands.
