Does anyone use these online movie rental places and what do you like vs dislike about them. Who would you recommend? Thank you for your help and have a Great Disney Day!!

Can only speak for Netflix, which we use. We love it. It is so easy just to pop them in your mailbox when you are done, and to keep them as long as you want. We have used it for about 6 months. We have found lots of older titles for the kids, and many many indie films which are not available in our local rentals. It is possible that we might stop for a while as spring heads in but to get us through the winter, it works for us. We really do not go out to the movies much, as it adds up with 5 of us. 18.99 monthly unlimited. We typically rent about 9-10 monthly (due to turnaround times) so that is around 2 bucks a rental. Considering locals are $4.19 for a DVD, we are happy, especially with the late fees, that we invariably have sometimes.

I've used both NetFlix and Blockbuster - 6 of one, half a dozen of the other...

in other words - didn't notice any difference. Both were reliable - both shipped about the same speed etc. Find who has the best price and go for it! ;)

Interesting. I'm using Netflix now, but did a trial of Blockbuster. In my one month with Blockbuster I didn't receive one movie, was sent the wrong movie once, had several movies that were badly scratched and skipped...it was just horrible. Then they "didn't receive" the last movie I returned and tried to charge me for it. They were at least nice about everything.

In contrast I've been using Netflix for a couple of months now and have had virtually no problems. DVD's are generally in great shape, arrive very quickly, and I'm quite happy with them.

Love Netflix! I refuse to use Blockbuster as they are the reason we signed up for Netflix in the first place - I got tired of paying $20 to rent movies. Of course, if we would have just taken them back on time, I know that wouldn't of happened!
Regardless, never had a bad experience with Netflix. Can't recommend them enough!

I download a movie every now and again off of movielink, downloads fast , the only real down side is it can get expensive, and their selection is a little crappy, depending on what you like.

We used Netfilx a few years ago. For less than $20 a month we rented a bunch of movies. The turn around time was very fast, within 2 days. The oly problem that we had was that two of our movies got lost somewhere between the mailbox and their return dept. We weren't billed for them but received letters from the company. After the second one went missing we canceled our subscription.

One thing that was great about them was that as a college studnet I was periodically asked to watch certain movies for school, and as many of the movies are older and not always on DVD the local rental places (Blockbuster and Hollywood) didn't carry them. So I just added them to my netflix account and had them for my assignments.

We have used Netflix for a year now and we love it. However, I tend to use our local Blockbuster for the kids. It's more fun taking them to the video store and letting them pick based on their mood that day. For DH and I, Netflix is awesome. A lot of the movies we want to see either do not come to Bangor, Maine or are here for a week or less! So whenever we read a good review, we put the film in our Netflix queue, even though it is not out on DVD yet. In a few months, it shows up. It is very reliable and easy and the price is right. I recommend it!

Check with local people folks before you decide. We have Blockbuster and get movies within 1 day because they ship from city close to ours . Co worker has Netflix - takes 2-3 days to arrive because movies are shipped from a farther place (actually, a different state). Other than that, services are quite similar.
