Question about name on code mailer

Hi All,

A few years ago I made a reservation for my grandfather as a Christmas gift so he could join us for a few days during a January trip that year. Since it was a gift/surprise I used my address on the ressie. Yesterday I received a mailer with a code on it - addressed to him at my address. What is the word on being able to use this? Does it have to be him, or can I use it? Not sure if we'd be able to use it anyway, but I'd like to know if it is worth considering or not.

You can try and see what they say, but usually the name has to match.

Hi: As a favor for two different colleagues of my hubby I booked disney vacations, room only for them. Last year I received a mailer withone of the woman's name on it but my address. I called central reservations all excited to get a deal, and they would not let me use it because her name was on it, but I think I should have asked for a supervisor and argued the point. It had my address so I should be able to use it.

As an after thought,I speak of wdw resorts with such high regards to others and I felt let down by disney as these people would not have stayed on site if it were not for my hubby and I telling them how magical it was to be on site, giving them websites with pics of the resorts, and if I had not made the call to wdw to book their trips.

They will probably say unless your grandfather is with you in the room you cannot use it.

Give it a try, let us know what happens.

I receieved one at my address for my Cousin.I called to see if I could use it and was told no.So I am not sure if you could or not.

Thanks everyone! I'm tempted to call just to see, maybe I'll wait until I see a Ding fare...this mailer has several different date ranges to choose from and just says "up to 40% off" and includes a Video CD. It may not be that great of a deal anyway compared to AP or AAA rates.

My family lives with my mother. (We moved in to care for her after a she had a stroke.) Anyway she received a postcard code a few years ago in her name and they did let me use it. I had to show ID that my address was the same as the one on the postcard. We called and asked when we made the ressies and I took down the name just to be safe.

It seems to me that a lot of mailers are being sent to addresses with others' names on them. Could it be a way of sucking people into calling, thinking they will get this amazing rate and then hoping they are so excited about going that they will book anyway??
