We just did this on our last trip and it worked great. When bell services came to pick up our bags, we told them it was a transfer to another resort. They wrote it all down and gave us our ticket(s) for our bags. We went to a park for the day. When we checked in, and presented our luggage tickets, bell services delivered our bags to our room. It was very seamless.
I'd suggest asking at check-in how to best arrange the service. Not every resort has a dedicated bell services staff. As such, an appt might be necessary to ensure timely service.
