question about mickey's very merry xmas party

If you want to enter the park on the day of the party (from 9am-6pm) you will need a park ticket. If you are just going to the party, you only need your party ticket to enter.

The above is true - and even though the party does not officially start until 7:00 - for the past few years they let you in at 4:00 - so you can enjoy the park before the party starts. When they close the park at 6:00 they lead the party goers into Tomorrowland for the hour before the party starts.

I just read over at mouseplanet that the official WDW site lists the MK park as closing at 7pm and the MVMCP starting at 7pm. This sounds like a problem to me. Not to be negative, but if I have paid to be at this event and need a special ticket, shouldn't the other guests too? Even if they were at the park all day or came in at 4pm?

Not sure about the closing of park time (what date are you going) but you get a wristband when you enter the park with your MVMCP ticket and you are only allowed on rides when you show your wristband once the party starts. Not sure how strict the CM are about this but I do remember being asked. You also get the free picture when you show your wristband. There are several spots set up where they take your picture with a MVMCP background. You need to fill out a form and they mail it to your home. You get one picture for each ticket. They generally ask you to do only one pose but both times we went we were able to different poses.

Either it's a mistake or they are handling the switch over differently but I'm sure Disney has a plan to get the daytime guests who didn't pay to stay out of the park before the party.
