Question about MGM eateries

Hi

I am in the process of planning where I want my family to eat at on the next WDW trip next May (I'm pathetic, I know ), . For the most part I think we will be eating in the parks and not making any special trips to the resorts (with ONE exception, I'm a tea freak and I HAVE to have high tea at GF ) .
The only park I am have trouble to decide where to go is MGM. How is Mama Melrose, and Hollywood and Vine?

I think I am in the minority, but I did NOT like The Brown Derby. There was nothing on the menu that I liked (it seemed like it was ALL fish and steak ) and the entree I got I didn't really like. It was the Thai noodle bowl, and I think the dish would have been A LOT better if they used a firmer tofu.

We've never been to H & V, but we liked MM well enough. It is not the best Italian we've ever had, but not the worst either. There are people who really love it. It was a big hit with my pasta loving kids and has a nice atmosphere.

We loved Sci-Fi Inn, but Mama Melrose is a good one too!!

Hollywood and vine is horrible in my opinion. We loved Sci fi.

We LOVE 50's!!! So fun and great food!!! We also like Mama Melrose - if you don't see something you like, just ask - they did two special dishes for us. We haven't done H and V in a while, but we enjoyed it when we went. The buffet was good, but not great. We didn't really care for Sci-Fi the last couple of times - food is not worth the price, and we're not big on sci-fi anyway. And we really don't like Brown Derby.... although we are probably in the minority, but we won't go back there.

The 50's Prime Time does not get enough credit for very good food and generous portions. Most people talk about the antics that take place there.
We used to like Hollywood & Vine, but this past June it was really pretty bad. My DS (15) could barely find anything to eat except for desserts. I also had trouble finding much that I liked and ended up eating a LOT of salmon. I would not recommend H&V until they improve their menu, or go back to the old one.

50s is much better than MM. To me, MM is no better than Olive Garden. It was OK but nothing to write home about. The food at 50s is great but go hungry and leave room for dessert.
