I was wondering if anyone knows if what kind of memory cards you get effects your pictures? Or is it just the camera you use?

The memory card, being digital, should store exactly what the camera gives it to store.

However, two important aspects to consider:

1. A really cheap card will perhaps run a greater risk of becoming corrupt and that will definitely affect your pictures, making them unreadable. Go for a brand you can trust.

2. The speed of the card should be a consideration. Cards with low writing speed take longer to store the image, and you may find yourself having to wait a tick for that next shot if you like to shoot several pictures rapidly in a row.

check what maximum memory card your camera will take. Check your camera name and style number on line. Some should not be used with 4 GB or higher.

I tend to use 2 GB cards that San Disk makes. San Disk is a brand sold pretty much everywhere and is excellemt. You can catch sales on them at Radio Shack, Staples and Best Buy. Other brand memory cards have caused us problems losing images or not being able to upload them.
