I'm pretty sure I've seen this addressed before, but at the time it didn't apply to me, so I didn't pay much attention (sorry!), and now I can't find it.

DH and I received our New Member Handbook about a week ago, and our PINs yesterday ...I was so excited to call MS tomorrow morning to book our first trip, but a few minutes ago I realized that we haven't actually received a member ID card. I didn't panic when we didn't get them with the New Member Handbook because I seem to recall reading that they're sent separately, but on the postcard with our PINs, it says, "Use this PIN with your Club ID that you received with your Membership Documents." Should I be expecting another package with our ID card, or do I need to contact someone to report that we didn't receive ID cards with the Handbook?

Thanks for any guidance - I'm so excited to be joining the wonderful DVC family!

you should of recieved a temp card with the packet if I remember..

If I remember correctly, we didnt get our membership cards until about 3 months after we signed the paperwork. We were given temporary paper cards when we first joined so that we could use our discounts.
We joined in August of 2004, got our pin numbers in September, and our membership cards in mid November. I wouldnt worry too much about it, but if you are calling member services anyway to book a trip, you might as well ask.

My membership card arrived a week or two after I got my handbook. But I had called MS when I got the handbook and they were able to give me my membership # and PIN over the phone so I could access the website.

HTH!!! :teeth:

Thanks to all of you for your input! I'll call MS this afternoon and hopefully they can give me my number over the phone. I can't wait to check out the member website!

The Club ID is not your membership number. It is a number that was provided on the piece of paper that came with your new member package.

I wouldnt be too concerned about getting into the member site. It is all information that you already have and know. I don't know what the secret is that you need to log in. The site is a grand waste of time.

Funny, we haven't recieved our membership cards yet, and we recieved the handbooks and the pins about three months ago. We've got the numbers, and have booked OKW and been on the website, just no cards. Last week I was just getting ready to phone MS to ask - we want to go shopping at the Disney Store (the discount still applies in the UK), when MS phoned me to check that everything was ok and that we'd recieved our cards! I said no, they said, well you should have done, sorry, we will re-order them. It was really odd, because they literally phoned as I was looking for their phone number. That telepathy worked well all the way across the Atlantic! :teleport: Haven't got the cards yet, but he did say they may take 3 weeks....maybe they've had problems.

Don't worry folks...they'll send your cards somewhere!

Our cards arrived about a month after everything else...with good reason. The cards are sent by a mail fulfillment house in Georgia, and they really messed up our address. They put the house number from my daughter's address with my street and zip code! There is no such address on this planet, much less here in Miami.

Believe it or not, the Post Office actually tracked us down and delivered the darn thing. We are stunned and grateful to the good old USPS!
