Question about manual wheelchair in cue.

We have been to Disney many times and have never had any problems with my mom transferring from her scooter to a regular wheelchair for some of the lines (TOT, Rock'n Roller Coaster, etc). However, on this trip, no one will be able to push her through the cues. I can push her a little ways and on flat ground but no way will we be able to make it up the hills, etc on those rides. Anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions? TOT is my mom's favorite ride and I would hate for her to miss it.

Those of you coming along also aren't able to navigate one such rides line while taking times pushing instead of one of them pushing all the way? If that's the case?

There aren't really any options that will be a given. If there is nobody in her party to push her, she's up to the mercy of others and the situation. If she looks the part and runs into the right person, somebody else entering the line might not mind giving a push. Very, very once in a blue moon a CM working the ride gives somebody a push. HOWEVER! That is not only their job, they do not have the time to do it nor are they actually allowed to do it.

As a powerchair user that frequents WDW solo many of the times -and thus can't do certain rides like POTC where I'ld need to transfer- I'm of the "life sometimes is what it is" mindset. Fact is that she can not navigate a line while using a manual chair without help. She'll need to arrange for that help herself or accept that this time some of the rides won't be meant to be but there are enough others out there that she can navigate solo and enjoy.

Unfortunately, she may not be able to experience those attractions. As mentioned earlier, CMs cannot push a guest through a queue or help a guest transfer onto rides. The reason is for staffing and safety. We can't leave our positions for the length of time it would take to push somebody through a queue, and we don't know the person's limitations an how to properly help them.

Is your mother able to walk a little bit? That might be her best bet if she really wants to experience the attractions. Otherwise, she is going to have to find somebody to push her or sit it out.

Just chiming in to agree with other the posters.
CMs are not allowed to help out by pushing a wheelchair, and they usually have. Specific assignment that they are not allowed to leave.

You might try seeing if any DIS posters you feel close to are going to be in the parks the same time as you. I know some people have been able to meet up in a park and help each other.

Thanks for the replies. I was not really expecting a CM to push her through the line. I guess I was wondering if anyone had an experience with using a different entrance. I know a few times when we were celebrating birthdays, etc CMs would allow us to go through the exit to get on the ride. We did this both on TOT and Rockn' Rollercoaster. TOT is the one ride I know she will really want to ride. She says Rockn' Rollercoaster always gives her a headaches, so she won't want to do that one. Thanks again!!

You can ask nicely at the attraction, but be prepared for the answer to be no.
In order to do it, there would have to be a CM free who could take you there, since that is not a usual way to enter.
Be prepared for a wait or to be told they may be able to do it if you can come back later.
