Question about making Reservations

We are planning a trip to VB and VWL (our home) for next April (our first as DVC owners).

How do I best proceed with making reservations?

If I book a full week at VWL at the 11 month mark, can I then modify this ressie for part VWL/part VB at the 7 month mark if there is availability at VB?

Or do I have to wait until the 7 month mark to do anything?

Help!?

I would say make your ressies for VWL at the 11 month window, and then at the 7 month window see if you can change the portion of your ressies you want at VB to VB. I wouldn't wait to book the whole things until the 7 month window.
