Question about Magical gatherings

Hi guys I have a question about Magical Gatherings. Do we all have to be resort guests to take advanatge if the MG Fireworks cruise?

Me and DH2B will be staying in the AKL but the rest of our party (7 of them) are offsite.

Otherwise we'll stick to the illuminations cruise...

We did it last year and I believe it was 75% of the people had to be staying on-site. I will also say that while the Magical Gatherings events were absolutely amazing, the planning portion sucked. Anytime I wanted to make any change or PS I had to go through the Magical Gathering people. I couldn't reserve ANYTHING once the regular reservation people found out that we were a 'magical gathering'. It was annoying as the MG people weren't nearly as knowledgable...

Sounds like that counts us out then. Oh well I'll stick to the illuminations cruise... it's cheaper anyway :0)
