We were able to get a free condo this year so it does not look like we will be staying on site. I know that the Extra magic hours for the evening are for guests only but do they rush you out if you dont stay at the resort? The reason I ask is because I am thinking that on those nights when it is late hours since we will not be able to ride rides past the normal closeing time that we would do some shopping or eat a late dinner or even just walk around and soak up some more of the disney atmosphere. I guess my question is do they kick you out if you are not a resort guest or can you just walk around and not ride rides during the late hours?

You can do anything in the park EXCEPT ride rides and see shows. Your plan is exactly what I would do if I had to stay off site.

I haven't done EMH yet, but from what I hear they only check for your resort ID when you enter an attraction.

So they are happy to take your extra shopping cash, they just won't let you on the rides.

1- Nope.
2- That'll work.
3- No.
4- Yes.

Your plan of doing some shopping & dining after hours is exactly why they will not kick you out. You are welcome to do all that & soak up the atmosphere as long as you like until the park closes.

Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise, unless it's a CM at the park that night!

Me too popcorn::

Bring on the debate!

There's not much to debate.

Unlike at the hard ticket Parties, there are no parades, fireworks shows, or other special happenings that are an "open" part of PM EMH, so guests without a resort ticket just hanging around doesn't detract from my EMH enjoyment.

Very few guests (who can't ride attractions) will be hanging around, anyway.
Again, unlike the Parties, the principle reason for attending PM EMH is to ride attractions.

Agreed.... but I have seen this before. Especially about dining.

I'm trying to figure why anyone would waste valuable EMH riding time "dining."

But, hey, debate away!! :goodvibes

Robo--People are going to be upset because she plans to do something resort gusts feel they are entitled to and pay a higher price for--staying in the parks after close.

I don't care if she does it or not--I personally am going to go to EMH to ride rides, not shop.

Sorry all. Didnt mean to incite a war between on site and off site people. I have never stayed offsite and do not know how it goes when you are offsite. I know when we use to go we had to go get wrist bands showing we were resort guests to stay after hours but I saw somewhere on here that they dont do that anymore so I was wondering how they even knew who was and who was not a resort guest.

I'm all for non-resort guests staying in the park during EMH. How else will they know I'm better than them unless they see me riding rides after hours?

I ASSURE you I am joking.

I highly doubt that Disney will have any problem with you staying late and giving them your money.

Have fun!

Even when they used the wristbands, non-WDW guests did not have to exit the parks for PM EMH.

They just could not ride the attractions without a wristband.

Posters sometimes get the rules of the hard ticket parties mixed up with the EMH rules.

I have to ask: I remember reading here before that some CMs even stake out the restrooms so that no one without proper ID can use them. Is that true or false? Or is that different for the special event parties too?

:scared1: That would be quite shocking. I would rather them spend that extra money on the pool scouts and let the life guards guard.

I really hope that isn't true.

When we were there for the MNSSHP and MVMCP ~ they were herding people out ~ and being totally harassed for it. I've never seen that kind of thing for EMH.

I can't remember what exactly they were saying but something to the effect of "you don't have to go home but you can't stay here" :rotfl2:
