Question about Luggage Tags

I'm trying to get everything ready to start making all these fun things for our upcoming trip!

I plan on laminating my luggage tags, but what do you attach them with? I went to a couple of stores to look for the plastic little cord to attach them with but couldn't find it. Does anyone have any ideas on where to get them or what they use? Thank You!!!

The easiest and cheapest way to attach them is with "cable ties". You can find them at most any store. I get mine at Walmart in the hardware section. They are also called "zip ties". You can get between 10-20 for under $3.00.

Great tip Dolly as I had the same question as well. I was thinking of using the plastic (?) string that kids use to make necklaces out of it but this would be much more secure!

Are you laminating with a flexible plastic or hard plastic? I am trying to find the hard plastic but cant find it anywhere or any place that does it.

I actually use baseball trading card holders to make my luggage tags and name tags. They are much studier than regular lamination. They sell them at Walmart, Toys R Us and most places where you buy trading cards. If you buy them...purchase the heavy ones not the flimsy ones. They are super inexpensive! The ones that I buy come 35 to a pack and are around $6.00. If you go that route...have your husband use a the hole punch to make the hole for your cable tie.

Also the perfect size tag for these is 2.597 x 3.5. Although 2.5 x 3.5 works as well. I have tags that will fit these in my 4shared file in the link in my signature.

Dolly~ Which ones do you normally buy? Are the short ones long enough?

Did your Walmart have the baseball sleeves? Mine stopped selling them but I have also gotten them at Toys R Us.

For the cable ties...it depends on what you are going to attach them to (i.e. luggage handle, zipper, etc.) and how big they are. I used the 8 inch cable ties but only because it is what I had, and I had to cut off a lot of excess cable tie.
