Question about luggage service at the airport

My bag was checked at the gate when we boarded this morning. It had the yellow resort tag on it, but I thought I'd be able to get it from the luggage carousel in Orlando rather than have it delivered to the room. It never came out...does luggage with yellow tags get automatically routed to the resort instead of coming through the carousel? The lady who helped me at baggage claim didn't seem to think it would, but she also didn't seem to know what I was talking about. I'm kinda freaking out right now...do people think I'm overreacting and my luggage will be waiting in my room?

If arrive between the hours of 5 am and 10 pm, yes.

That is what the yellow tags are for -- so that the luggage guys know which bags to intercept and deliver to the Disney resorts. Your resort area and resort are printed on the tag, along with your name. If you wanted to pick up your own bags, you should not have used those tags.

We plan to NOT use the yellow MDE tags next week, because we are arriving about 5 and don't want to wait several hours to have our bags delivered. We will pick them up at the luggage carousel at MCO and bring them to be loaded on the DME bus, then bring them to our room ourselves at our resort.

Yes, the yellow tags are for bags you do NOT plan to pick up yourself. They are pulled off the plane and sent off to Disney. They never see the luggage carousel. Sorry you didn't know that before time. I thought the emails from Disney mentioned this but maybe I read it elsewhere?

And yes, your luggage will arrive in your resort about 3 hours after you do

Yes, DME has already grabbed your bag. The yellow tag is the cue for the handlers to grab a bag before it even gets to the luggage carousel.

Thanks guys! The rational part of my brain knows all this and it knows I don't need to be freaking out right now...but I guess I left that part in my bed when I woke up at 4 am...I always carry on so I just assumed you could get your own luggage if you wanted - assumed they just went in after everybody and took what was left. Stupid, I know. I will expect to see it in my room tonight.

Just in case anybody ever finds this thread in a state of panic like I was, you all were right - my suitcase was in the room waiting for me. I was tired and let myself stress out over nothing!
