How hard is it normally to get tickets ?? We went to AK last time at disney, on Presidents day in 2004 and the place was so packed (the entire park actually, have learned since that its one of the most crowded weekends) and we didn't have a chance of seeing the show. Both kids love lion king, and I'd like to try again, but we may not have park hoppers, so if not, could anyone recommend a good day to go (S,S,M or T after thanksgiving), or answer the general question of whether it will be impossible to get a ticket.

Thanks in advance !

They don't give out tickets for Festival of the Lion King. My best suggestion is to get there at least 30 minutes before the time of the show. Get in line and bring stuff for the kids to do. It's a great show so I hope you get to see it!

:teeth:

:wave2: no extra ticket needed.....the show is included in your cost of admission into Animal Kingdom.....

Thanks ! I wasn't sure if you could get a fast pass type ticket for a show so that you could be guaranteed admission. The older one was very disappointed when the line was out of control last year and we didn't get to go.

Is there one time or day that is less crowded than any others, if you happen to know ?

The first or last show of the day is your best bet--if you arrive 30 mins early for the first or last show on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday you'll be fine. (Saturday will likely be mobbed with the last of the Thanskgiving crowd.)

On the Weds evening extra magic hour, there is an additional show at 6p. It was still letting people in at 10 til 6 this past weds.

One comment.....Festival of The Lion King is my (and my families) favorite show at WDW :) .....we have seen all the different shows and often when we return we will skip some because we already seen it in the past and dont feel like waiting in line.....but Lion King is something we wait in line for EVERY time we go....we were there in April and went twice.....not sure how old you rkids are..but my 15, 12 and 9 love the whole thing (mom and dad too !!!)

enjoy

The only place I'm aware of where you need a ticket to see THE LION KING is on Broadway, in New York City. I haven't see it there yet, but I have seen BEAUTY AND THE BEAST on Broadway, and if it's as good as that show, it has to be a winner.

Enjoy.

We went to the last show a couple weeks ago, and there were plenty of empty seats. We went to the 1:30 show that day too (first time, and it was so good we went again!) and it was packed.

I agree, probably the best live show at the World, don't miss it. :thumbsup2

The Lion King on Broadway is AMAZING!! I saw it many years ago when my company was having silent auctions for charity. My sister and I had a bidding war with a co-worker and we paid $300 for two tickets. I now know they were worth a lot more than that. We were in the orchestra about 15 rows from the stage and I had the aisle seat. It was so breathtaking to watch the animals coming down the aisle at the start of the show.

I'm waiting for my nieces to get a little older and then I plan to take them to see it. I can't wait to see it again!!

Needless to say I'm also a huge fan of Festival of the Lion King. It's my main reason for visiting AK each trip.

A lot of times the line seems very long, but the theater seats a lot of people...just get ther about 20-30 minutes early and you will be fine.
My whole family LOVES this show, definitely don't miss it!
Oh and wanted to add we have seen Beauty and the Beast and Lion King on Broadway and they are both great!!! We also were about 10 rows back ont the aisle..awesome!

Both of the Broadway shows are fantastic. :goodvibes

my son has actually seen it on broadway (lucky devil) but I haven't, and his younger brother is now a big fan of all the songs, so I think the way to go is to just try to get the last show in. Wish we had just one more day in disney.....

Thanks for all the great input !!

FOTLK is an amazing show. It is one I see all the time. I like to see the last show of the day, because it usually is never very crowded.
