Will it be a problem?

I guess, I shouldn't have made reservations in advance but I'm not sure how all this works anymore. This is the first time that I own at multiple resorts. So, I guess, I thought I was trying to be "smart" by reserving at my home resorts for 3 nights at BLT and 4 nights at BCV. So, I called today at 7 months to get 4 nights at BLT. When I called I didn't realize I had to cancel the BCV reservation first. So, I could use those points for the BLT reservation. There were only 2 1 bedroom MK views left so, I was bit nervous as he said that he had to go to another screen to do cancel and then, come back to the current reservation. But luckily nobody else called in for it during that 2 minutes. Then, I requested the reservation to be one 7 day reservation. He stated that this is a request only and not guaranteed that you would stay in the same room. I didn't say anything on the phone but why would I need to change rooms for a 7 night stay in the same size room with the same view. I guess, I wouldn't get the right cleanings but I don't care. He made a really deal about it and I just didn't understand the issue so, I was hoping somebody here could enlighting me.

So, now I have a reservation for 3 nights at BLT MK View and 4 nights at BLT MK View. I'm beginning to think they really only want you to call when you want to make the full reservation. Maybe I should have chanced it and made my entire reservation at 7 month for 7 nights??

Also, does that mean I need to do dining reservations on two separate calls as well? I think, I didn't do this right???

Everytime in the past when I've done something like you are describing, the reservations were linked as I wanted them to be. I don't think anything has been changed which would prevent your reservations from being linked. I would call MS and ask, and if you're told they can't be, I would ask for an explanation.

Opps, my post wasn't clear. He said that they could be linked but no guarantee you would stay in the same room the entire reservation. But I'm thinking why couldn't it be guaranteed it wasn't like I was changing room sizes or views. So, I didn't get it.

I always assumed "linked" meant that it would be treated as one reservation. When our reservations were linked we never had to move. Maybe this "adding dining plan" change has something to do with this new "twist." Still I would call for verification.

Okay.. I'll give them a call after the holidays. At first I thought he was reading a scrip because it sure sounded like he was. Anyways, thanks for responding.

He probably was. It seems to happen when you get a CM still earning their ears. We've been in your situation before with no problems. Almost every visit, since we have two memberships/use years, our reservations are linked and we've never had to change rooms.

I don't think it will be a problem. Recently got back from a trip where I booked one night BLT using my points and friends booked two nights using their points. MS linked the reservations. We didn't even have to check out/check in for the second leg.

I've had two different reservations using two different contracts for a 7 day reservation before several times. They always said the reservations are linked and no guarantee we will be in the same room. We never had to move to different room. They are just saying it cover themselves just in case.

You will often get the "Earners" on weekends and holidays. They are not all bad, but if they dont sound like they know what they are talking about, they usually dont.

I would link it and not worry about it. Confirm at checkin. At least now you can choose to add DDP for part or all of your stay if you want.
