Question about Lime Green Mickeys!

I finally buckled down and peeled the LGMHs off of the backing card. Some came off easier than others, but it only took about 10 minutes to get about 16 or so done.

I tried my best to keep the Mickey head as flat as I could and peeled the backing card off. Sometimes I went around the perimeter of the head to make sure it wasn't glued to the edge, loosening it as best as possible. Bit I had no major catastrophes, and now they're awaiting some sort of embellishment.

Some of you have stated you've laminated your LGMH's. How have you done this? Is it a do-it-yourself thing that you got at the craft store, or did you bring them to Staples and have them done? Just curious...

Where do you find them in HD? In the paint section? Do you ask for samples? I'm going today and don't want to miss out in the fun.

There's a section of Disney paint where all the paint chips are. Look for the Alien Green color and line your pockets with them! I also got a couple of Princess Purple ones for DD...

I'm planning early for my trip in September. Dh found me a small Focker pic that I'm going to put on one of my printed LGMK and I'm headed today to Home Depot. If I happen upon some paint samples, then so be it.

Wow, what a thrill. I got my LGMH's!

I tried peelig and it wasn't going to good. I took the hair dryer to it until the burn factor got to be too much for my fingers and it peeled right off.

Last minute especially since I have been planning this trip since July! I feel complete now that I have them in my possession. I thought they were bigger for some reason but I know other Dissers will spot them just fine. I am cutting mine around the edge and using my scrapbooking adhesive (Tape Runner) to glue them together. Now I can't wait until Friday to attach them to our stroller 4 more days, baby!!!!

I went to HD yesterday and he asked for what................I told him "You don't want to know..........but it's free". He was so puzzled!
When I came back with the LGMH and some black and white ones too.......... he was even more puzzled.....and confused.
I explained to him what it was all about and he just simply said....... oh.

Yeah, he thinks I'm insane........especially since I'm ALWAYS on this website!
I'm addicted!

Thanks for the link. We don't have a HD. I was thinking about just getting lime green poster board and cutting them out of that. I will at least be able to use the pattern if nothing else.

I'm going back to WDW in sept (3-11) was there in feb and didn't see any LGMH Hoping to see a lot this time...did anyone see the LGMH in the new Parents magazine...Ailen green chip was proudlt displayed on top of other brands of paint samples...there may actually be a legitimate run on them now! was at the depot last weekend and got 12 more LGMH and some other samples to not be obvious...DH thinks I'm crazy

I couldn't remember where I got that from- It must have been you! I downloaded this awhile back and for our trip earlier in May I printed these out on full sheet stickers and cut them out for our door/windows and even made me a planner notebook with one on the cover!

Oh, and for the laminationg question....I get the laminating sheets from the office supply section. Sandwich a LGMH or two between sheets, press out all the air bubbles (I use my kitchen scraper), trim, and hole punch! Clear contact paper works well too, it's less expensive but a little thinner. Or you can find the home laminating machines for $20 at Big Lots sometimes. Although the one I got there works sometimes and doesn't at others.

This is a little OT, but related. I made these business cards off my computer. I met DISers on our trip last Christmas but didn't have anything to write their names down on so I made these up before our May trip. Sorry for the glare, but the scanner wasn't working and I had to take a pic!

They're even good if you chat up someone who might be interested in the DIS but not already here!
