Expecting RC to cancel our Navigator June 28, 2021 cruise in the next few months.

My question:
We are already booked on the Mariner in early July 2022, for the exact same stateroom that we had booked for our June 21 Navigator cruise (VP stateroom). The total cost for the 2022 Mariner is around $1000 more expensive than what we paid for the 2021 Navigator cruise.

If RC cancels our June 2021 Navigator, I understand we would be able to do Lift and Shift. If so, could we just replace our currently booked 2022 Mariner with a Lift and Shift, thereby preserving our 2021 price that was cheaper? Or would we have to cancel our 2022 Mariner one first?

It is my understanding that RC is offering L&S when they cancel, however the terms are much tighter. They will provide you a narrow list of alternatives and dates. Did you book the Mariner sailing under the CWC rules? You would have to follow the cancellation rules for that one because L&S wouldn't mean they would just let you cancel your July 22 cruise. In your case, these are the same class of ship and if the itinerary is the same, it may be on the list.

Looking at my sailings booked for 2021, they don't have comparable options in 2022. So if mine get cancelled, I'm probably just going to take the refund (I've already L&S them once). I'm not feeling very confident about my September trip, so I just booked a backup land vacation. The only plus of that is that it is significantly cheaper!

Yes I had booked Mariner this past November so i would be technically able to cancel up until 48 hours I believe. I booked with a refundable deposit anyway, so assuming there was an opportunity to L&S my June 2021 Navigator, I could always cancel the Mariner and get my deposit back.

Another question:
Is the stated 4-week period that a cruise can be lift-and-shifted one year in advance based on the departure date, or the end date or both? For example if my original cruise was from June 28 - July 5 2021, can I lift and shift a date 4 weeks before and after June 28th, or 4 weeks before and after July 5th or both?
