I am thinking I will be posting a lot here since I am going to Paris for the frist time next April! My friend and I are renting an apartment in the city for 8 days and were thinking that we would just take the Metro to DLP for a day right beofre we go home. I am reading a lot of information and thinking maybe we should take the train out a day earlier, stay for 2 nights/2 full days at DLP and then get transportation from DLP back to the airport. What do you think? We are Disneyland CA frequent fliers (live about 30 minutes away) and have been to WDW 3 times. What should we do????

I think with 2 days you would be able to do both parks justice. Its then easy enough to get back to CDG via the TGV fast train link (11 minutes approx).

With only 1 day you would have to rush round and will definately not see everything.

The first time we went (2 years ago) we were staying about an hour away on a campsite and originally intended going on a day visit. We then started thinking about staying over for the night. We then looked at prices and decided it wasnt much more having 2 nights which would give us 3 days in the parks. The day we were due to leave to go back to the campsite they were trialling EMH and the park was open til 11.00 at night and we decided to stay but didnt fancy driving back so booked an extra night at a cheap off site hotel. So what had originally turned out to be a day visit ended up as 3 full days and 3 nights.

I would say it would be better if you could stay as you would have chance to explore the village and perhaps some of the hotels as well. There are many differences between DLP and the American parks which are worth looking at and enjoying.

Hi nursemelis374 and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

I'd agree with others that an overnight stay may be better than coping with the journey back to Paris late at night :)

There are some rides you could skip like Buzz Lightyear laser blast, Snow White and Pinocchio which are exactly the same as California, but some - Casey Junior and Space Mountain, for example - have the same name but are a bit different - enough to make it worthwhile to test them out.
There are so many things that are just completely new and unique to DLP.
I think a nice difference is that there are restaurants like L'Auberge de Cendrillon and Inventions which serve good French food while you meet Disney characters - I just love this.
You'll be able to enjoy this aspect if you stay overnight. Nights at the Santa Fe can be as cheap as 60 dollars for a twin room if you book ahead with expedia.

Having said that, there is so much to see in Paris. You might want to look at a guide book and figure out how long it will take you to see everything you want to see and work out what you have left for disney. On a quiet day at DLP you can see most things in a day but possibly not see disney studios as well. you'll be rushed off your feet too! Last time we were there for 10 days and we didn't see all the shows... but then we went into the park for extra magic hours and breakfast and then went to paris on some of those days.
