We are staying at the gf and i was wondering if it is faster to take the monorail or the boat back when the park closes.

Kind of a side step answer, but we like to walk to the Contemporary and take the resort monorail back from there. It's a nice little walk and the lines will be much less hassle. I don't know if it's any faster, but it's a lot easier on the nerves!

On what you like better, outside on boat or inside monorail?
Where in GF are you staying, closer to monorail or near dock?
Stollers?
Little kids sleeping?
I prefer the boat, and we stayed at the Poly (which takes longer by boat than GF, and shorter on the monorail than GF).
On the crowds-busy time, EMH at night?

no little kids sleeping.lol all big kids now and i don't know where we are staying at gf yet. we are doing land and sea cruise in a cat 3 ...i don't where thay are putting us yet. I would prefer the boat but hubby thinks the monorail would be faster.:cool1:

The boat is faster. Although we never stayed til the end of the MK being open, multiple times 2 of us took boat back to Poly (which stops at GF first) and two of us took monorail to Poly. Boat beat monorail every time.

Why not try them both, or split up?

I like that a race back to the room. Winner gets a massage ..lol i like that . Thanks:banana:

Also, keep in mind that you get a cool view of MK fireworks and electric water pagaent from the boat

I agree with the boat. I have on a couple of occasions run over to the MK after getting my hair done at the Ivy Trellis at GF and the boat ride is faster. The GF is the last stop on the resort monorail.

Take a look at the boat dock when you leave. If you've just missed a boat (or if there is a massive crowd waiting), go ahead and take the monorail. Otherwise, take the boat.

keep in mind that there are 2 boat lines (I think the big ferry to the TTC uses a different dock). To me, it seems like the line for the CR boat (and FW/WL?) was much longer than the GF/Poly boat.

Two different MK closings after Wishes, two different years, once with the resort mono the other on the GF/Poly boat. Both times the lines were long for both modes of transportation. We liked the boat wait and ride better. It may have been as long a wait (it took three boats) but it was a nicer setting and more relaxed crowd.

How often does the gf boat run and what time is the last pickup once the park closes?:cool1:
