I just got my reservation from my TA and they had my kids ages as 6 and 2 at the time of the cruise. The ages were wrong they are going to be 6 and 4 at the time of the cruise. I called DCL and told them the correct ages and they said since the 2 year old is now 4 years old that is going to change the price of the cruise. I asked by how much, and she told me to contact my TA. I'm figuring that they are going to charge me a $250 deposit for the 4 year old and that is it. Maybe I opened a can of worms by calling the DCL and telling them the correct ages, but they would've figured that out when I got to the ship with her passport and when I tried to sign her up for the kids clubs.

for a 2 year old it would just be port costs...since she is 4 it would be the cost of a child.

As floridaminnie said, you will now have to pay the 4 year old's cruise fare as opposed to just the port fees and taxes that they charge for those under 3. You are correct that you will now have to pay a deposit for the 4 year old but that is not all. It depends on the date of your cruise and the category but you will most likely be looking at $400 at least and possibly more.

What a hassle to have to deal with this and with a price increase on your total fare as well. As you said, however, it would have been discovered at check-in so better now than later when it would have been even more difficult to work out.

Good luck and I hope it is not too much more money for you!
