Just needed some reassurance that this is correct. If I make a reservation for an AP rate, I only need to have 1 AP. Not everyone in my party needs to have one. Is this correct?

Yes this is correct, it has to be an adult annual pass it can't be a childs.

Does the AP expire one year from the date you buy it or one year from the date that you first use it?

cobbler, i just asked this question to wdwtc and was told i could use my granddaughters pass(5 yrs old) to get the discount

A child's AP can be used for the discount so long as that child is staying in the room.

Lucy6:
It depends on where you purchase the AP. If you get it in Florida at WDW or several off-property locations like the airport, you will get the actual pass that is activated the day you buy it and your one year starts from that moment.

If you purchase it from a Disney Store, by phone or online from WDW, you will get a voucher. That voucher must be exchanged at a Guest Relations location at WDW for the activated AP. Your one year will start the day you make that exchange.

In no case is it dependent on your actually using it to enter a park.

Well see there now. I just may bust.

First I was told that the discounts are avail for all resorts but at certain times of the year. Then I was also told (same person by the way, cast member, who I ordered it from over the phone) that child passes are not allowed for discounts.

Now none of these are true!

Geeze!
