Does anybody know if daily housekeeping** is included when you use your points to book the hotel room category through DVC (not talking about a transfer through concierge)? I have a feeling it’s not and the only difference is you give up the kitchenette but if it includes daily room service that would make hotel side a lot more enticing.

Do you mean daily housekeeping? Room service is normally referring to ordering food off a menu and it being delivered to your room.

Sorry yeah misspoke. I meant daily housekeeping. I know it's not included for DVC rooms typically but I wasn't sure if it would be since it's on the hotel side.

If you are a cash guest, you get regular housekeeping. If DVC it’s not full housekeeping daily. Though they have brought back the paid option for additional service.

I see, so even if you stay under the hotel room designation through DVC as opposed to the studio it does not come with daily housekeeping.

I only bring this up because Aulani is the only one with a separate booking category for hotel room specifically.

But this sounds like you just lose the kitchenette and gain nothing for choosing the hotel room as opposed to the studio which does have it.

If you are Staying in a Deluxe studio and booked like a regular guest (not paying with DVC Points) you get regular housekeeping services.

If you are staying in a deluxe studio and you booked using DVC points, You get service on a set schedule that is not every day.

Points - Every few days unless paying for additional service
Cash - Regular service even when staying at a DVC resort

Apparently I'm dumb! So the point chart for the regular hotel room vs the DVC studio is actually different and the regular hotel room is cheaper to book with points than the studio.

You also get two queen beds in the hotel room, instead of one queen bed and one sofa-bed in the studio (although you do get a kitchenette in the studio).

It's worth noting that there are only 8 DVC "hotel rooms" that were added to the association based on some swap involving a machine room or laundry. They have not much in the way of view, and typically require home resort booking. They are popular with locals who own points for staycations because they don't care about the view and are there for a pool.
