Hello!!

I was wondering if you can provide me with some feedback about guest certificates...how do they work? when you give them out...will they have to do anything special to confirm the reservation? can they encounter any problems when they arrive to DW and check in? can they use the magical express? and finally.......can you rent those out?

Sorry for all the questions...i want to make sure that if I give it out they will not have problems and need to go to a hotel!!:faint:

Assuming you mean a DVC unit obtained through an Inverval Intl. exchange:

Per II's terms & conditions, you may not rent them out. Unlike RCI, II will not even allow you to recoup the cost of the exchange fee and guest certificate. You can gift them only.

II has been known to suspend or cancel the accounts of folks it thinks have rented out host accommodations, so you'll want to tread lightly. But, seeing as how you created a brand new account for just this question, you already knew that. ;)

:rotfl: yeah...the account is new but not for what you think it is!!:rotfl2:

Yes it is through interval and I had somebody said tha they had rented it out and thought that that wasn't true so.....

My main concern is ....if I give them out to family members or friends as a gift....how can they be sure they will not have a problem? I have the reservation made on my name so.... I know they will get the certificate on the mail with their names but ...can't they have any troubles .....can they? I mean...they go to the check in and just present the certificate? dont they have to call to confirm the reservation is there? I just do not want them to fly from NV and find out that they cannot use the condo!!

sorry to bother but...I am really worried that they might have a problem...I gave it out already .....Interval said only need the reservation number and the certificate but.... this is the first time ( as you might guess) i give one away....I have my unit at broadwalk and I use it every year ...but my niece will be 15 next year and my gift to her is this certificate...I do not want her (and my brother) to have any problems there ....

THanks for your help in advance!!!

They shouldn't have any problems. Now, on the other hand if DVC or Interval become aware someone has one that is purchased, you risk having your II account terminated and the exchange canceled, but for family you shouldn't have an issue. I have heard of this happening many times on the big timeshare forum I read.

:cool1: Thanks for your comment!!!!......what's that forum? i might go there and take a look at comments...:goodvibes
