Hi! I have a silly question. How much does it cost to ADD the Grand Plan to your package? Is it a Per Person Price, Per Day Price or What? Any help would be great.
Thanks, Wendi
:p

Wendi, you can't really ADD the Grand Plan to your package, you have to book a Grand Plan Package from the start, or convert a lesser package to the Grand Plan.

And the price that is given is a total for your party for the length of your stay...and it will be QUITE a lot of money. :D

Wendi, if you are curious as to the cost of the Grand Plan, then a good way to get a rough idea is to go to the WDW Reservation Website and enter in a little info about your trip. WebmasterMichelle is dead-on about that particular package -- it can be quite expensive depending upon the number of people in your party, the time of year you want to vacation at, the resort that you want to vacation in, and the type of room that you want. If you have your heart set on a Grand Plan, then by all means consider booking one. My Grand Plans have been magical and I will not hesitate to take one again if the mood suits me. Of course I will only use Dreams Unlimited Travel or the DISavers Club to book it for me. This is all my humble opinion and others' opinions, as it should be, will vary.

Wendi, the Grand Plan is very expensive and hard to get your money's worth. If you compare the cost of the Grand Plan vs. paying separately for the dining and other inclusions that you would actually use, you will see what I mean. Disney wouldn't offer something all-inclusive unless they were making a killing on it. As a former TA who booked a lot of Disney, I do not feel it's a good value. The inclusions are nice, but you can have all those niceties and pay less in the long run by paying for them separately.

We did the Grand Plan on our honeymoon. It really is not a good value, but whether or not it is a good deal is up to you. We went water skiing a couple of times and rented water mice. We ate 3 sit down meals a day, in order to get our moneys worth we went to the most expensive places too. We would have a big sit down breakfast, big sit down lunch, frequently we would stop for appetizers at maybe 5 or 6, then have a big meal at 8 or so.

You spend A LOT of time and energy trying to get your 'moneys worth'. We kept track of everything we would have spent on the food and activities we did and found that we did not even break even using this plan.

HOWEVER, we really enjoyed it, though we probably won't do it again. If we hadn't been on the Grand Plan, we wouldn't have called a speed boat to meet us in the mornings to take us skiing if we were pulling 60 or 75 bucks out of our wallet every time. We wouldn't have eaten in every EXPENSIVE restaurant we could find for EVERY meal. If you enjoy the freedom of doing everything you want when you want to do it without worrying about the cost, then this package may be a good 'deal' for you.

I must beg to differ about being able to have ALL the 'niceties' and pay less for them in the long run. I've done the Grand Plan a few times, and ... while yes, we DID have to sort of "work at it" to get our money's worth, the fact is, we DID get our money's worth! LOL Took lots of golf lessons, played golf, did all sorts of water sports, tours, fantastic meals every day, etc etc etc. And again, yes, when I got home, I actually sat down and totalled up what the entire trip, everything included, would've cost me had I done all of those things "ala carte", and I DID end up slightly ahead.

However, that being said, I'm not saying that everyone should do the Grand Plan (or any other plan) all the time. Will we ever do it again? Yes, probably. In fact, I've been thinking this past week, 'wonder if we're going to miss being on it this year?' since I've gotten rather used to it!

We also did the Grand Plan on our honeymoon, and when we got home, my DH tallied it all together and it added up. We stated at the Grand Floridian, we took full advantage of all the recreation, we took out boats everyday, sometimes twice, we wakeboarded, saw Cirque De Soleil, had great meals at great restaurants, did the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks cruise, it was just simply amazing. I would love to be able to do the Grand Plan again one day, maybe on my 25th anniversary! If you want to do it, you should. You will not be dissapointed.
