Ok..

My family and I will be at GF Dec. 29- Jan. 4.

We will be flying and want to use Magical Express. But during our stay we were hoping to take a break from the park and maybe go shopping around Int'l Dr. or something. I know some hotels can call the rental car place and arrange to have a car come....but what does GF have along those lines?? Any thoughts???

There's an Alamo and, I think, an Enterprise at the car center, which is on the loop that goes around the monorail resorts and exits the MK parking lot. I think it's easy to get a shuttle from any of the monorail hotels during regular business hours. I think you may need to be a member of Enterprise's club to use it. Frommers says there's a car rental desk at the GF, but I don't actually recall seeing one. I think there are a number of companies that will deliver a car to you. There's also a rental car place at the Dolphin, which would be easy for you to get to using disney transportation.

Bottom line is that I think the car care center Alamo is probably your best bet.

Any of the resorts can help you make arrangements with Mears Transportation to go just about anywhere you want. We used them to go to Universal and Sea World during trips where we had a free day and didn't want to hang out at the resort or go to one of the Disney parks. They can arrange a shuttle bus or a private town car (obviously the town car is more espensive).
