I am staying at POR, but will have dinner at GF.

Can I take a boat from POR to DTD then a bus to GF? or maybe I should take a bus to MK then a bus to GF. To get back to POR could I take a bus to DTD and a boat to POR?

When I stay at POR and need to get to a different resort, I tend to head to the nearest park. In your case, I would go to MK and take the little boat to GF from there. When done with dinner, I would hop on the monorail and get off at MK and take the bus back to POR. The buses and monorail will continue running for up to two hours after park closing, so you should be fine. If not, then take the DTD bus and then you could either take a bus back to POR or, if it were me, take the boat.

Hi,

To get to the GF by WDW transportation, take a bus from POR to the MK then the monorail from the MK to the GF. I think you can walk to the GF from the MK but I'm not sure...I know someone else will have that answer. Then reverse it on the way back.

But the easiest and fastest thing to do would be to take a taxi.

Yes, scenic but slower

Faster. but take monorail to GF, not bus.

If MK is still open but not emptying out monorail to MK then bus to PO. MK buses run for one hour after closing, but there will be long lines as the park empties out after wishes. Otherwise bus to DTD then boat or bus to PO.

Or take a taxi.

when going from resort to resort, try to avoid having to travel to DTD and then to the next resort if at all possible. Always try to go to one of the parks and then take the bus/monorail/boat to the next resort. Traveling to DTD will always take a lot longer and should only be done if there are no parks open. Last month when we were at WDW, we were meeting some friends for dinner at the Yacht Club. They were staying at the AKL, we were at the contemporary. I told them to take the bus to MGM and then the boat to the Yacht club. Well they decided to ask at the front desk what was the best way to go. They were told to go to DTD and then change to the Yacht Club bus. This took them close to an hour and a half, rather than the 45 minutes my route would have taken. Don't use DTD as a transfer point if you can help it, unless you have plenty of time.

You can not walk from MK to GF...there is a waterway between them with no bridge. If you take the monorail, plan on it taking about 25 minutes from MK to GF..it is almost a complete loop. If you can take the boat, it really is quick...if the boat has just arrived, and you can board it quickly, it will take about 10 minutes to get to GF...probably less. We used the boat between MK-GF-Polynesian all the time. The GF is the first stop after leaving MK.
