question about gift cards

If I buy Disney gift cards can I use them through out the park? Who doesn't accept them? I am just thinking this will be easier than a bunch of cash. We don't have CC. Or should I do like a prepaid visa? We love to eat at plaza Inn do they take gift cards?

IME they will take the gift card anywhere they have a card reader, so Plaza Inn is okay. The only place you may run into problems is at the vending carts. Some have a card reader and some don't so just check before ordering your churro.

To echo the PP, Disney gift cards are accepted just about everywhere in DL/DCA. We use them ourselves, and we're local. At WDW, it's how we pay for almost all of our meals and souvenirs. It's convenient and allows you to pre-pay/save up according to your budget.

There are a few places in the park that don't accept them since they aren't "owned by Disney". One is a shop in NOS and I don't think the shilouette studio takes them. The moving vendors (balloons, "glow stick" carts) most likely won't have a card swiper. So have some cash on you.
