Question about Getty Images

I was sent an invitation on Flickr grom Getty Images to sell my stock photos. I'm not sure if this is a scam and tried doing a quick search but didn't see much. Is this a bad idea? I wouldn't mind being able to sell some of my photos. I still don't think my work is worthy though.

Not sure if that invite is a scam or not; but I know that Getty does work with Flickr.

If it's legit, I'd definitely give it a shot.

Thanks Scott. I read on DPReview about Getty. I was nervous because they ask for personal info to set up an account such as SSN for tax purposes.

In fact, there's an option on Flickr to have your pictures "Available for Request to License" through Getty. If you open one of your pics, then look at the bottom right (under the Tags), you might see the option there. Maybe someone clicked on it?!?!?

Getty is one of the largest stock photography agencies in the world and they typically do not contact you to buy your images as stock unless you have already checked that box on Flickr that Scott was talking about.
