Question about getting from BWV to OKW

Hi, We have friends staying at OKW the week we are at BWV. Does anyone know if it is walkable from one to the other resort? If not, what are our options to get back and forth (don't have a vehicle)? I'm guessing a taxi?

Taxi is certainly one option. You can always take a Disney bus to either downtown Disney or one of the parks, and then catch a second bus from there to OKW.

You can take the boat or walk to DHS. From there you can catch a bus to OKW.

Not walkable. Distance is a few miles at least and there is no way to walk (no sidewalks or other place to walk, just busy streets). Quickest way obviously is to have a car and drive or call a cab. If you are going to a park first you can just take available transportation to the other resort from that park. In fact you can walk to BWV from both Epcot and Studios (there is also a boat from those parks to BWV)

I find Disney's transportation system works quite well. I'd at least try the tips mentioned above before reverting to using taxi services:

• Walk from BWV to Disney Hollywood Studios (DHS); catch a bus from DHS to OKW.
• Catch bus from BWV to Downtown Disney; catch either bus or boat from Downtown Disney to OKW. (Boat would be far nicer!)
• Catch bus from BWV to any park ... transfer at park to bus to OKW

Disney's transportation system is fun! (At least it is during off season ... when I tend to visit.)

If you like to walk, then take a bus to DTD. You can then walk to SSR, past THV, go along a golf course and canal, and arrive at OKW. When we stayed at SSR we walked to OKW.

I think there is a more direct way from DTD, but I haven't done that.

I'd just rent a car or minivan if it were I. Trying to get from one to the other will require an extra hour or more most trips in all likelihood. It's not difficult if you know what you're doing, it just takes time.

Hopefully our waitlist at BWV comes thru and this isn't a problem (but I'm losing hope)! But I agree that Disney transportation is very easy so I'll give that a try.

Waitlist BCV, SSR and BLT; all easier to get around than OKW IMO with BCV obviously being the best alternative of the 3 for your situation. Is SSR not available? it would work much better than OKW in this regard if you request Congress Park, Springs or Grandstand. If you're looking for a specific view at BWV, you're likely to be out of luck. If you're just looking for a room in your size, you might get it depending on the unit size and other specifics. Or could you change all to a different resort, ? OKW or SSR, to get them all together.

Depending on Disney transportation will waste much time. Just because buses provide service from a resort to a park, there is not always service from parks to the resorts, especially in the morning. Renting a car would be much more efficient.

I am waitlisted at BWV and BCV but it hasn't come thru. I'm starting to worry that it won't. Now that they have the 2 at a time limit for waitlists, I am limited. Is SSR that much easier to get to and from than OKW? Sorry if this is stupid but my home resort is BWV and have only stayed there (since we love it). I haven't seen SSR yet.

IMO SSR is that much easier due to it's proximity to DD. That's why I said it matter where you were in SSR. CP is the easiest to walk to DD and use the bus system there but any will work better than OKW IMO. Plus if you give up later, SSR is likely easier to get back into for the entire party. Partly it depends on when and how much time you have until your travel. Good luck.
