Question about free dining plan

I'm sure this answer is buried somewhere here..but I couldn't find it. We will be at WDW from 10/4-10/10, We will have myself, (11 yr old) dd ( who I'm counting as an adult) and dd (6)...SO my question is do they just give you "credits" to use as you go? Like we will be there for 6 nights, so will we have 18 snack credits, 12 adult counter service, 6 child counter, 12 adult sit down, and 6 child sit down? Is that how I figure this out? I plan on using all of my sit downs with no problem for character dinners..2A1c for CP dinner, Epcot princess bfast, CRT, LTT dinner, CM's dinner, Donald's bfast. Are you guys also planning your counter services? I don't really know WHEN we'll be hungry so I hadn't planned them yet?

Yes except the adult and childs credits aren't seperated. You'll have 18 snack credits, 18 TS credits and 18 CS credits.

I'm not really planning CS meals, I figure we'll have early lunches to make room for big dinners. I'm trying to get an idea of what places I want, but I'm going to wait and plan the times as we are hungry.

we typically do not plan "where" we're going to have our counter service meals, but pretty much know which meals we'll be eating counter service (does that make sense?)

i.e. monday, we are planning a TS meal at lunch so will use some of our CS credits for a shared breakfast and again for dinner when and wherever we're hungry...
