Question about Free Dining and Menus

My sister and I will be going to Disney in September and for the first time, we will have "Free Dining"....Are our choices "restricted"? For an example, if we went to Nine Dragons, would we be able to order this as one "sit down" credit meal or would we have to choose something else?



Nine Dragons Family Dinner Set - $23.68 per guest

For Each Guest, choose Any One Soup, One Entree and One Dessert

Hot and Sour Soup OR Chicken Consomme with Pork Dumplings

Honey-Sesame Chicken OR Sichuan Beef and Tofu OR Sweet and Sour Pork

Strawberry Red Bean Ice Cream OR Green Tea Ice Cream OR Caramel Ginger Ice Cream

There are no restrictions on the DDP just note that your responsiable for the tip and any extras..... each person gets a entree, dessert, and non-alcholic drink per night of your stay........ Nine dragons would fine as long its on the participating list

in general, on the DDP you order an entree, non-alcoholic beverage & a dessert. The type of item you're listing does not fit the plan so you will probably not be able to order that. If they did allow it, it would be 1
TS per person so two TS for you & sister (they would not allow the two of you to pay 1 & share, for sure.) Some places have set up fixed price menus that have app/entree/dessert for the regular DDP but that offer is no substitutions allowed, and the entrees on that are the less expensive offerings

There are no restrictions if you are picking a single entree, drink & dessert. EXCEPT the item OP has listed is not "an entree,drink & dessert"...it's a family package meal that does not fit the plan's definition. People have reported this type of family package has been excluded.

Yes...I did know about the tipping...We were just there in February with nine of us on the Dining Plan (also for the first time) So, if Nine Dragons is on the list, I would choose an entree, dessert, and a drink...(not the family item) I'm trying to figure out where to make our reservations...We always seem to pick the same places every time...and some of my favorites just weren't as good as usual. I was surprised.
