Question about FD and other discounts

Currently we are booked at The Contemporary for October 13-20. We are booked in a Theme Park View room. I really wanted a Garden View but there were none available. I have been hoping for some kind of discount but none have come up.

I'm wondering if we should move our vacation to the end of September. We can get a Bay Lake Tower 1 bedroom which would give us more room for the exact same price. If we are going to spend more than we originally wanted, it would be nice to get more! Plus I see that there is a FD offer. If I try to price out the trip online, it is not discounting for the FD though even though it says the trip is eligible. Does the FD come off after you book the trip or how does that work?

If there is FD on that trip, it would make it even better.

What would you do? Wait it out for a discount for October (what are the odds???) or change the trip to last week of September? The reason that we wanted to do mid-October was so that DS would have a few more weeks in school before we pull him out for the week (1st grade) and so the weather would be a bit cooler and lower hurricane risk.

Our kids will be 6, 4, and 2 at the time of the trip and our 4 year old has Down syndrome and can't walk far and we have to take the double stroller so that is why we chose Contemporary.

I should add that the Bay Lake Tower room is not available the week in October that we are going. We can only get that if we switch weeks.

To see free dining on the website, you have to click through a link on the Disney page called "Special Offers." You can't just plan a trip using the "make a reservation" or "book your package" (whatever it's called) stuff on the page.

OK...I see now. So it looks like we can't get that Bay Lake Tower 1 bedroom with the FD anyway.

And we also can't get the 1-bedroom with a discount. Ugh! So I guess neither of those discounts work for the BLT 1 bedroom (FD or discount room). We would still be getting a better room if we switched to September. It just wouldn't be at any discount. Hmm...
