Question about FastPasses and the Under 3 Children

Since my 2-year-old is not old enough to do any of the volunteerism (according to the rules) and she is not being charged for a ticket anyway, she can still use the FastPasses (we already bought our tickets) with us, right? We won't have to leave her to wait in the regular line while everyone else rides using the FastPasses, right? ()

I believe if your child is eligible to ride (meets height restrictions, etc.) he or she could enter the line with an adult who has a fastpass, even though she wouldn't have one herself. Any child who entered the park with a ticket would need her own fastpass though.

design_mom is correct. If the child isn't old enough to have a ticket, they don't need a Fastpass to use the Fastpass line anyways, so long as they are accompanied by a guest who does have a Fastpass.

My 2 yo was tall enough to ride Soarin but of course I didn't have a ticket for her. The CM would not let us take her through the FP line b/c "she doesn't have a FP and every person needs one".

I kindly tried to tell her that we can't get a FP for her since she didn't have a ticket. After a few minutes discussion, the CM gave us a special pass for my DD (very reluctantly).

This was the only ride where the CM gave us an issue on a 2yo not having a FP. I was ready to call her manager ... maybe she was new or maybe she thought we were just trying to sneak in a child ...:confused3

I'm not sure what her problem was, but just be prepared to explain the situation if it arises.

I wonder if they weren't used to a 2yo of sufficient height (I think that's something like 99th percentile). Either that, or they put the most inexperienced CMs at the Soarin' Fastpass line, which would explain a great many things... ;)

Yeah, she has always been 'off the charts' when it comes to height...so is my newest child!

If all the CM gave us an issue, then I'd understand, but we definitely went on other FP rides and no one else questioned us; but I do see your point since this was the only one where height can be an issue...I was just thrilled that she could go on and she loved it!

So is this true for a 5-year-old, too then? She will have a ticket, but is too young for the service (need to be 6) so wouldn't have the FP.

No, she will require a Fastpass...but she does not need to volunteer herself to take advantage of the GAD Fastpass. You should read one of the many other threads as to how it works (or at least follow the link in my signature, although I'll be rewriting that section in the coming week), but for redeeming ONE GAD voucher for the Fastpass option, EVERYONE IN YOUR GROUP (up to a max 6 advertised) gets a Fastpass Exchange Card.
