We have always stayed on site and had paper tickets. This year we are doing onsite trips. I want to have my tickets connected to my room key so all I have to worry about is the key(s). Do I have to have paper tickets to get a FP? Or use the room key?

Use your room key.

For FastPasses, you use whatever you used when going through the turn styles to enter the park. Paper ticket, room key, Annual Pass, whatever.

So gain, never stayed onsite... will 1 room key have all the info on it? Actually, since we have 2 rooms, I assume we will need 2 room keys then each having that rooms info? So for instance. In one room is 1A2C.. and the second has 2A2C If I insert room key #1, I should get 3 FP? And Room key #2 would give me 4 FP? Never done the onsite thing before so just trying to figure it out. Last time we just used paper tickets to get FPs., one ticket inserted for each FP.

No - everyone in your party will receive a plastic resort id card which is also the room key. Then you can have your park tickets put on the resort id card as well as charging privledges. Whatever room they are registered in is the room the card will open.

So to enter the parks each person will use their own resort id card and that is also what you will use for the fast pass machine.

Did you buy your park tickets separately from your room reservations? If so, you'll have your paper park tickets (MYW) in addition to your room keys, which you'll be given at check-in. Everyone who is 3 and up will need a park ticket to get in the park. If, when you check in, you have the desk upload your paper park tickets onto your room keys, then you WILL only have to worry about that one card as it will serve as your park tickets and room key. The desk CM will discard the paper ticket once it's been uploaded to the room key, and you use that for all purposes for your trip.

That said, everyone (all ages) will have a room key. Only those 3 and up, though, will have a room key with a park ticket downloaded onto that room key (if you do what I suggested above). The park ticket is what gets you a Fastpass. For example, we took my Dniece when she was 12 months old. She had a room key but it couldn't be used to charge to the room since we didn't set her up as an authorized charger on the account, NOR could it be used to get FPs since it had no valid park admission attached to it because she didn't need to pay to get into the parks.

So, since everyone 3 and up has a room key with park admission inputted into the key, each room key works for one person and can retrieve ONE Fastpass. So you'll need to have all the room keys with you to get FPs for all the members of your party (except for the 2 and under crowd for reasons explained above) - IF YOU HAVE THE PAPER TICKETS PUT ON THE ROOM KEYS. If you keep your room keys (which are hard plastic credit cards, basically) separate from the park tickets and don't have those inputted, you'll just need all the park tickets as each ticket gets one FP for one person.

Make sense?

Going to slightly hijack this thread on the under three crowd. They don't have a ticket to go through the turnstyles so they can't get a FastPass. So what do you do when you have a two year old who can ride the Safari but can't get a FastPass while the adults in the party can? Or Lights, Motors, Action stunt show? I guess if a Cast Member is at the FastPass machines, it shouldn't be a problem. But I find FastPass machine Cast Members to be like the person at the Wal Mart self check out lines - always there when you don't need them, never there when you do need them.

Yes thank you! We are buying 1 day base tickets and then when we get there upgrading to 10 day with water park. I just dont have the cash in hand to pay 45 days in advance for the entire trip (10 day tickets mostly b/c its $1500 for our family of 6!). So I am doing the 1 day to get the free dining and then turning that in and paying the additional for the 10 day tickets. I will have them put the tickets on the room key for convience sake

Kids under 3 don't need a FP to go through the FP line with you.
