Question about extra magic hours.....

Hi,
We are traveling to Disney in December 2005 and are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the first 2 nights then off site the rest. How do the extra magic hours work? What kind of id do we need to utilize them? Can we still continue to use them after we check out of AKL as long as we have a resort pass?? How will that work??

Extra Magic Hours are perk only while staying at a Disney resort. You will need your Resort ID which will have on it the date you are checking out of the AKL. You can use your ID from the time you check in until midnight of the day you checkout. After that you can not use them.

As the other post mentions, your resort ID has the date printed on it and yes "they" would know and yes "they" do really check.
The extra hours are only a perk for those staying on site so utilize it for the 2 days you will be on site.

they will have stations set up where they check your ID and then give you a wrist band. The ride attendents check for the wrist band before letting you on any rides after the official park closing.

When we were there in February, the Disney CMs checked the resort IDs carefully. There are dates on the passes and a code that shows the resort at which you're a guest. At Epcot and at MGM, for the evening hours, we had to show picture ID with the resort passes in order to get the wrist bands.

It is a perk for resort guests only. I'm glad they go to the extra effort of checking. It's no advantage if off site guests use it, too.
