Question about Express Pass and Disability Pass

We are heading to the parks next weekend and I have a question about "mixing" the two passes. My cousin's son is autistic and can't wait in long lines so she wants to get him the disability pass. I was going to buy an express pass for me and my daughter and my niece. I told her since it's likely to be busy she might want to consider buying the express passes since with the disability pass she's still going to have to wait a long time for returns.

My question is if she buys an express pass for only her son so we can take him on the intense rides she's afraid of. Can she still get the disability pass for him so she doesn't have to buy an express pass for herself, but can get return times for the family rides? Like for instance she could get a return time for her family for Spider-Man and her son can use the express pass to come on The Hulk with me and my daughter? She's afraid if she buys her son an express pass then they won't give her family a disability pass. Does anyone know if Universal has a protocol for this?

Short answer: Yes, you can have both.

Longer answer: If she's going to be the only person in the party without an EP, I'd highly recommend that she gets one so that the entire crew can access all of the rides (the thrillers and the family-friendly ones) via the EP line - ESPECIALLY on the weekend.

Have you checked whether there is availability at any of the onsite hotels that offer EP?

Yes I checked but everything was booked up. We wound up calling ahead to guest services and they helped us out.
