Question about eurostar & booking through disneyholidays.

I'm waiting to book up our December trip 1st dec -5th, were going to book through disneyholidays so we can take advantage of paying for the whole trip in instalments.
My question is for those that have been in December before which dates did you go and what was the train like in regards to being full? I'm really deciding whether it's worth buying my 3yo a seat on the train if the train is going to be empty or lots spare seats... As I've just seen someone's photos from last December & the train looked bare.
We will be going on the Direct train from Ebbsfleet.

Last year we went second week of December and we didnt get a seat for our 3yo. On the way out on the Sunday the train was busy so we had to take it in turns to stand so he could sit. However on the way back on the Thursday evening the train was empty and we had no difficulty getting 3 seats together.

We went in December (18th - 20th) the last three days of term before the schools broke up. My DD was a week off three and we didn't book her a seat. She sat in between me and my brother and she was fine. There was enough room for her and she just did drawing at the table the whole way.

We're going back in September and we haven't booked DD a seat.

We have never booked a seat for our under 4 year olds.She has always fitted on the seat between her dad and her sister. Usually we will book a table seat meaning there is a "spare" seat on the inside against the window, never had anyone book this seat.

We had dd, 25m old, on our laps. She was more than happy watching peppa pig on the tablet, playing with stickers, going for the odd walk. I wouldn't buy her a seat until I need to.
