Question about entering park for ADR

Hi there.

I am in planning mode for our mid-July trip. I recently managed (somehow) to get an ADR at BOG. It is, however, on the day we were planning to go to AK. We will have premium APs, so park hopping is not an issue. My question is actually about parks that are closed due to reaching capacity. If I have an ADR and the park is at capacity, will they still let me in for the ADR?

Thank you!

Many times, yes.
If the park is in a Stage 1, Stage 2, or Stage 3 closure, you can get into that park with a valid ADR.
(And, in your case, an AP would be of the same value as an ADR.)

But, if a park is in a Stage 4 closure (the busiest) NOBODY will be admitted.

To be SURE, you'd want to be in the park by 10AM, or so, and not exit until you were finished at that park that day.

I would say though that the chances of a park closing due to capacity in mid-July are non-existent. The week between Christmas and New Year's, around Easter, and July 4th are probably the only times you'd have to worry about it.

Sorry Mods. I wasn't sure if it was an ADR question or a park closure question.

Thanks for the replies. That morning is the only time we can do AK, so we were planning to go from rope drop until about 1:30, then relax at our resort, then hit MK for dinner and fireworks. Is siskaren correct? Do they not close parks due to capacity that often in mid-July?

I agree that mid-July you're probably not going to run in to a park closing situation. Summer is definitely busier, but not usually that busy :). I think you'll be fine making it in for your ADR :goodvibes

As others have said, mid-July is busy, but it isn't a busy enough time to reach park capacity/closure like it is during holidays such as Christmas Day, New Years Eve, etc. You will be fine :).
