Question about EMH with AP?

Hi! I was wondering if anybody knew how EMH works for annual passholders. Specifically, I was wondering if we wanted to go to an evening of EMH say the day we arrive without having been to any parks during the day can we go through the gates no problem with an a/p?

EMH's are only for resort guests. If you are an AP holder and NOT staying in a resort you cannot participate in EMH's.

However, you can stay in the park and mull around, which we do sometimes just to relax at night, but you will not be able to enjoy attractions.

Sorry - I realized I forgot to mention that we will be staying in a Disney resort. So we will check in late afternoon and get room key. Can we go to park that has late hours with our a/p without having attended any parks during the regular hours? Anybody?

Yes. I believe you can be admitted up to one hour before EMH closing time (for example, if EMH is 9 to 12, you can get in up to 11).

As long as you have a room key, you can enter at any time before or during EMH. They have wristbands at the turnstyle if you arrive after it starts (at least they did at MK when I did that)

With an AP you'll be OK but if you have a MYW without park hopping you can only enter the EMH of the park you attended that day.

Sorry but I just don't get this- do you have to get the wristband 2 hours before normal park closing (without extended time)? If you are AP holder can you just take your chance and try to enter during the EMH time?

If you are not in the park, you just get the band when you get there. You can get it 2 hours before if you are inside as once "regular closing time occurs" you will not be allowed on any rides. The two hour window is meant as a convienience and to avoid a huge line at closing but if you are not in the park, no problem, they have them at the gate after regular hours are over.

In August, we left EMH about 1 1/2 hrs before it ended for that particular night. As we exited the park, there were still people coming in and getting wristbands at the turnstyles.
