Has anyone gone through this? I have reason to believe this might be happening to me and I have a dr. appt on Monday with my Gyn to make sure. A pregnancy test today resulted in weak positive lines, but I had a tubal ligation after my last child was born, so I am worried this is what I might have. Any advice would be appreciated.

First off, welcome to the DIS DisneyGirl2003. I hope you enjoy it here :)

I have never had an ectopic pregnancy myself. A co-worker and good friend had one though and she found out whe she was in a lot of pain. I cannot recall what she had to go through but I do know that she didn't have a tubal ligation before hand (so I guess I am no real help).

I did do a quick Google Search and it is more likely that you could have an ectopic pregnancy after a tubal ligation from the quick reading I did, but still possible that you will have a normal pregnancy. Wishing you all the best no matter what.

I don't want to scare you, and you're going to the doctor on Monday. But if you feel any pain, I think it would be best to get to the hospital to be checked out.

I also want to welcome you, and say how sorry I am that you are going through this. I agree with the others, if you have any pain, get to a doctor.

Take care!
Cathy

If you really think you might have one, please go to the emergency room. Dh and I had a friend who had one about 15 years ago, and she died. She was young (late '20s), healthy, educated and lived in an area with top-notch medical care. I don't remember exactly what caused her death but do recall that she had lots of internal bleeding. An ectopic pregnancy is nothing to mess around with.

I've been there & believe me, if you are experiencing any pain or discomfort or any loss get to the hospital a.s.a.p.

Mine was 10 yrs ago, but I still remember it. I started off with a huge loss followed by severe cramping in the lower abdomen, making sitting qutie difficult. I went to the doc when I had the loss & all he said was to go home & rest. Next day the pain came & got worse. Later that afternoon I was resting when I heard a pop & it was my tube. DH got me to the doc who got me to hospital a.s.a.p. & it was very touch & go if I survived or not.

Please if you are concerned or have any sort of discomfort or have had a loss get to the hospital before it's too late. Monday is too far away if it is an ectopic.

My mom had one of these that ruptured and she almost died from blood loss
do not mess around with it if pain or blood is involved
get to a hospital at the first sign things are not right
she had major surgery that she almost did not survive
good luck to you hope you are better soon

Dont wait for the Dr appt. Go to the hospital now. I had one in 1994 less than a year after having my tubes tied. The first time I went to the hospital I was in severe pain and went in on a Sunday to the ER. Well the Dr must have decided I was a druggie because he told me I probably had a virus and gave me 3 days worth of antibiotics. When I asked for something for the pain he said take Tylenol. The next day I couldnt stand the pain....we're talking pain worse than having the 2 kids I have now....so we went back to the ER. Different Dr was there and had me take a pregnancy test then they did an ultra-sound (and that was the rudest person there complaining about me being to dumb to know I was pregnant and she had just gotten home when the hospital called her back in for me) and then rushed me to surgery. Seems like the original Dr that tied my tubes did a very sloppy job. The hospital ended up sending the head of the ER up to recovery to say that we wouldnt be billed for Sunday.....like I would have paid for that mess anyway?!? Anyway they said if I had waited until morning my tube would have ruptered and I could have died from internal bleeding. And the GYN/OB also recut and tied the other tube too.
