I have a question about DVC annual passes. Our family purchased DVC APs back in April of 2012 for our April/May 2012 trip and our January 2013 trip. We didn't renew this April because we didn't think we would be going enough in the next year to make it worth it. Now, DH and I have a short trip booked in November (adults only!) for the F&W festival and then Santa is bringing a surprise trip in January 2014. We were thinking of APs again for me and DH and then regular tickets for the kids in January.

So the question is, can we still renew our APs and "back date" them to have started when the old ones expired? Or was that only available for 30 days after the expiration date? I know that's a long shot but I'm just trying to figure out if there is any way I can still just pay the renewal price. Pretty sure that ship has sailed but its worth asking!

You can certainly check at Guest Relations, but AP renewals are usually only allowed 30 days before and 30 days after the anniversary date for the expired AP.

Good luck! :)

You really don't want to do this.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #15-G, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!

It would seem to me you would be much better off not renewing because you would be shorting yourself a significant number of months during which time who knows what opportunity may pop up for an unforeseen trip. Why pay for an AP that you know for a fact you will only get a max of nine months out of if you are paying for 12? You are short changing yourself for a lower price that probably leaves you coming out behind when you actually do the math. :)
