I am one of those who loves to rent DVC points for my vacation every year. We have been very happy and had good luck with the owners. Anyway we are thinking of buying the Disney Dinning Plan this year and I understand the owner will need to call about this. Can someone give me a little more information.... does the owner have to pay when he calls or can we pay when we get there? If for some reason we decided not to buy the dining plan before we go, how would that effect the owner? Can it be cancelled or does he get charged some kind of fee?

The owner does not pay in advance, you pay for the plan at check-in. As you know, though, the owner must arrange to add the plan to your stay prior to your arrival. If you decide to cancel, please give the owner plenty of notice, so that they can cancel the plan at least 48 hours before your arrival. While the owner would incur no penalty, the plan simply can't be cancelled at check-in, it has to be removed/unlinked from the reservation by Member Services at least 48 (and they recommend 72 hours) prior to arrival.

Thank you, that was the information I was looking for. I am very careful not to do anything that would cause the owner problems.
