If I remember correct the only other charges would be from getting pictures you create on the computers, the toys you design on the Toy Story Sid's Toy Maker computer, and the games that you redeem tickets for prizes.
If you like cheesecake, make sure you get some from the Cheesecake Factory on the fourth floor.
If pushing the regular start button does not work, look for a green start button a little smaller than a dime on the front of the machine and try pushing that.
I haven't played that many video games in my life so I don't know all the different start button pushing sequences to get them going. For now, if you would rather play only the free machines, just go to a different machine if you can't make one machine work.
Some of the machines are free only, some are either free (using the green button) or pay, and some are pay only.
If you don't want to purchase the finished toy, you can play the Sid's Make a Toy machines free.

And there is another section like they said where you have to pay to make a toy. DQ is so big that there is plenty to do without having to pay more than the admission price.
