Question about Disney Visa

Okay, we have already paid our deposit for November. I was wondering if I should get a Disney Visa card to be first in line for any codes that may come out for this time? Would it really be worth it? Do you think codes would still be available by the time they are release to the GP? We are going for the week of Thanksgiving. I know this is a slim chance anyway for a code, but they were available in 2007!

Then, would I have to cancel the ressie and rebook using the Disney Visa, or could I just make a payment on it when I call? I am confused:confused3

Any good advice?

You should just be able to make a "deposit" (even though you've already made one) to it to qualify, no cancellations necessary.

Thanks! I really would only be getting the card for the discount, if there was one, because I can earn much better rewards on my Citibank card!

Unfortunately, they do not give special discounts on the hotel/tickets....

They do offer points back to be used on your trip. However, we got a regular chase visa years ago that offered 5% back on groceries and gas.1% on everything else.

So we keep the Disney Visa to bring with us to Disney because it will give you10% off at World of Disney store, but there are certain items not valid with this discount.

Also everyday from 1:30-4:30 at Innoventions in Epcot there is a special Chrarater meet & greet for Disney visa members and you can get one 5x7 photo each day (we've used the photos for other photos on our photo pass card, and not necessarily the photo they just took...)

Another benefit to consider is that if you use your Disney Visa to pay for your trip, you have 6 months to pay it off. They are very straightforward with this, give you the exact date you need to have it paid off by to avoid interest, and they allow you to make payments each month, even if you have other charges, it is still clear what you have extra time to pay. We used a travel agent LY and this was a great plus.

The Disney visa has no fee, so it won't cost you anything. If you sign up for emails you will get notifications of any special offers. I've gotten three different offers in the last 2 months. If you have another card that has a better rewards program, you could put the Disney card away in a safe place and just use it for Disney related charges. At least that way you would get the early notifications. But from my limited experience, it doesn't seem like the risk of missing out on special offers is too great. Of all the offers I've gotten as a Disney Visa holder, every one has made it to the general public.
