Question about Disney Gift Cards

I have a couple of Disney gc's (the kind you buy at Target) -- they have the upper part with the hang tag and the bar code, and then you can break them off and have the regular credit-card sized gift card with the mag stripe. I started breaking them all apart for ease of transport, and then I realized that the bottom gift card part doesn't have the dollar amount or a bar code on it anywhere. Is there any reason to leave them attached to take them to the parks? I can write the amount on with a sharpie so I know (they're all different). The bar code is just for activation in the store, right? No reason I would need that? So it's ok to keep breaking them apart and tossing the top section?

Yes, you can break them off. I wrote on them with a sharpie and numbered each card. There is a free Disney GC app that I tracked them in.

Just remember to keep the top half and your activation information in case something happens and you need to go back to your store to deal with the issue

Do you have the name of that app? Love the 5% off on Disney GC at Target with my Target Visa.

Is the Disney Gift Card app only for IPhone? I have a Blackberry but if the app is that useful I might have DH download it on his IPhone since we use a lot of GC's for the kids and dining/souvenirs
