Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has the Disney credit card (I think it's a Visa). They sent me an application a few months ago, I threw it out. Now that we have an $1800 balance by Aug. 4th, I'm wondering if paying it off with the Disney card would be good. Does anyone have it? Is it worth using, Linda

I used an online link that offered $50 in Disney Reward Dollars (it was credited on my first statement). If you pay off your balance with it, that would give you $18 more. I assume you're going in September (since my balance is also due in August!!). I use mine card in lieu of my debit card only when it's a big ticket item, like $100+ at the grocery or at the mall, or when traveling for work (like buying plane tickets or hotel stays). Then I immediately log online and make a payment even before the item has shown up so it's already paid for. You can probably have $100 in time for your trip.

Just make sure you give yourself enough time to request your Reward card before you go. Hope this helps!

Hi,

I have the Rewards card, I got it specifically for our first family trip in June. We use it for everything, and pay off our balance at the end of the month. I earned $400 in Rewards that I used towards my vacation. We put the balance of our trip on the card and will have 6 months interest free. So it made the trip a little more affordable.

Here is how rewards work, you earn rewards points for what you spend on your Visa. They show up on your account and bill. You then transfer those $ to a Rewards card that you can use similar to a "gift card". You must have a minimum of 10 points to transfer them to your Rewards card. My first transaction with my Rewards card was my $200 deposit on our trip. As for the Rewards card, you need about three weeks lead time to get it before you want to use the rewards $$. You can use it for a lot of things in the parks, and stuff in the Disney store. Your Rewards show up at the end of your billing cycle.

One benefit is a picture you can have taken and a free 5X7 in Epcot.

I plan on moving the last of my rewards to the reward card right before we go so I can use every $ possible on my trip.

I have used this card for everything and then transfer the rewards as stated in the prior post. The reward card that they transfer the points to can expire so make sure that you don't transfer more than you will use in any one trip. We are going in May and it is paying for ALL our food and I am excited about this. I sent off for my husband and son one last month because of the $50.00 bonus( we were all sharing one) and with their first charge they both received the $50.00 so when we go in October that will help with the food again. I pay my balance evey month in full because I do not want to pay any interest. I do this online and it is soooo easy. :tink: :tink: :tink:

Sorry if I am butting in but I just want to clarify one thing. The first time you make a transfer to the rewards card (when you actually order the card) you need a minimum of $20 from then on you only need $10 to transfer to your existing card.
I love this card my fiance and I use it for everything we can and so far we have $212 in rewards and our trip isn't until Decemeber. Soon I am going to start paying for wedding stuff with the card so I hope to have at least $500 by the time we go. Also since I no our statment will close while we are at WDW I will make sure to leave at least $10 in our account so we can make a final transfer while we are on vacation so we can use every last $ for fun stuff in the world. :Pinkbounc

I got mine in March and I have $43 so far. Like the above poster I use it for things like gas, groceries, etc and then I come home and immediately transfer money over from my checking account. I also have to buy a lot of things for my job (I am a church secretary) like books, office supplies, etc for which I get reimbursed. I love using it for that, truly like getting free money!

It's only good, IMHO, if you can pay off your balance at the end of each month. If so, you build points which in turn can be redeemed. If not, you will eat up your rewards in the money you pay in interest. The card usually carries a 6 month no interest period for trips that are charged to Disney on it but otherwise the rate is not great. We had a lovely intro rate but it went up when Bank One was bought out by Chase. IMHO, the card really kind of stinks as far as perks go and you could do better with others. :sad2: I suggest you get the card for the perks, and perks only, such as being able to book trips a few day ahead of public release dates or offers for figurines and collectables. Otherwise it's a joke. :lmao: (AGAIN - just my honest OPINION!) :goodvibes

Use the card as much as possible, always pay in full on first billing thu. No interest for us.

I also have the card and have had it for years. I use it for EVERYTHING! If they accept a credit card I use it. Currently I have enough points to pay for the dining plan for our family of 4! Hoping to have enough to buy the kids souveniers too by the time we go. I agree with all of the previous posts though... PAY IT OFF!!! It isn't worth it if you can't pay it off at the end of the month. I may use it for everything, but I have never carried a balance into the next payment period. If you can pay it off... you'll love it!

We have it, use it, and love it! We'll be getting an AP this year with our points.

Be careful of the $1800 balance you're paying off -- if it's another credit card (i.e. balance transfer) then you don't get reward points on that.

Good luck!

We just got one last week before we booked our vacation.

We don't use credit cards so we're using this like others stated above. It's pretty much being used as a debit card (to pay for everything then immediately making the payment online).

We will not carry a balance and we're hoping to have a little stash of a rewards by September...shouldn't be too hard with gas, groceries, eating out, utility payments, etc.
